Building on the foundation that the Project 316 audio players provide, the next resource that is in developement is a sytematic theological resource designed specifically for the Hmong.

Upon additional research what we discovered was that many of the Hmong, especially leaders within the church, are learning or have learned to read and write Hmong. Although being from an oral culture, many of the Hmong believers are realizing that in order to study the Word of God they must learn how to read and study for themselves. Of course this is a big mountain to climb, but many of them do understand that this is what God would have them do. God has communicated to us via the written word, and so to be in obedience to him, a believer should want to understand what he has to say.

Before embarking on this project we also wanted to make sure that there was not another resource like this. What we found was that, although there are certain curriculums found here and there, there are no significant resources that have been produced like this. What makes this unique is that not only does it teach theological concepts and doctrines, but within many sections there will be applicational teachings specifically developed for the Hmong cultural context, along with questions and answers by other Hmong believers. This a practical resource just for them.

And yes, this will be completely written in Hmong.

This is the basic layout of what will be covered. Things may be added and modified over time. The challenge with developing a resource such as this is the translation from English to Hmong. The Hmong language is very limited compared to the English and there are often other concepts attached to various terms and phrases. For example let's look at the term, "heaven," which in Hmong is "ntuj ceeb tsheej." When talking with the Hmong you may think that you are talking about the same thing, but what this term means in the Hmong language is that it refers to the abode of the dead. Obviously this is not the same thing as the biblical concept of "heaven" and Hmong believers would be aware of that. But nevertheless it shows us that creating a resource such as this will be quite challenging. Another challenge is that, due to the different dialects, there are differant vocabularies that although mostly similar, you have to be aware of these things and use vocabulary that hopefully is understood by these different groups. The main focus for this resource is those within the White and Blue Hmong groups.
